Thailand’s government ordered Korean Daewoo shipyard for Thai Frigate in 2016. The Royal Thai Navy (RTN) requires stealthy DW 3000H series military vessels.
114 meter length, 13.8 meter beam, 8.2 meter depth, a draft of 3.9 meters, and a displacement of 3,000 tons with 28 knots. Stealthy features include an enclosed foredeck, enclosed boat decks on either side of the superstructure, and enclosed bridge wings that extend from the slab-sided superstructure, as well as funnels that are shielded by the superstructure in profile.
Hongseong Industrial Company is located in Goesan, Choongchung area in Korea. The company started in 1971, passed 50th years of its history, manufactured lightweight products for various business fields as architure building envelope, marine and offshore, railway cars, TV and electronic appliance, special purpose industry etc.
The company developed many lightweight materials with sandwich structure panel and various kinds of bonding materials under “Technology Leadership” company motto. DeckDyne HH-200 false deck system is consists of lightweight and rigid honeycomb sandwich panel using high strength bonding system.
This Thai project was more difficult than other vessels because the owner specification was dimple marked PVC sheet on it. Every single plate dimple marks should be matched adjacent plates with up/down and left/right position. Finally it was fitted full false deck area of around 150 square meters of CIC rooms. It was quite difficult project on site staff and technicians.
