After the fire accident in Daegu subway,
554 cars of Interior panel Replacement Project in Korea
The first subway trains in Seoul has been running since 1975, the line has been expanded from line 1 to 9 in total 350 km in route. Korean National Railway (KNR) announced interior refurnishment program starting in 2005.
At that time, FRP or some plastic wall panel was in common, but some big fire accident in Daegu subway train, the huge refurnish program was started. Treno panel which is manufactured by Hongseong Industrial Company was adopted by its fire-resistant, custom dimensional size and aesthetic aspects.
Even paints on the panel were required by severe fire test, the ceramic paint was adopted for Treno panel which is non-combustible mineral cored with two thin aluminum skins. Treno panel has good fire-resistant, passed by British Standard fire tests. 1600mm width of the panel were flat, lightweight, good sound function and excellent thermal conductibility. 554 cars replacement project were finished during just 7 months periods.
Plenty of mass production capacity, skilled fabrication and assemble and many efforts to Hongseong's staff were accomplished this project successfully.
